A three day workshop for people who wants the inspiring experience of acting with masks from Bali.
In Bali they use masks as a communication with other worlds – A world of spirits, gods and demons. In this huge range of different kind of masks you have what they called: The Bondres. The Bondres masks represent the everyday people in the street with their needs, desires and problems. In playing situations, we use the seven deadly sins to shape physical, these everyday people with gestures, posture and voice. We arrive back at the western theatre by placing these ‘ordinary’ people in our daily situations.
The Bondres masks are special because they have no strict character inside instead of the Western masks. They learns you to get free from your own play patterns and –structures and to get free from the reality and enter into another bizarre world.
